TVS Motor Company has launched its brand-new electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter, in India at an introductory price of ₹99,900 (ex-showroom, including subsidy). With this launch, TVS has entered the affordable EV scooter market, aiming to attract young and urban commuters looking for a stylish yet practical option.
Long Range and Smart Features
The TVS Orbiter comes with a 3.1 kWh battery that delivers a range of up to 158 km on a single charge. The scooter also offers two riding modes – Eco and Power, regenerative braking, and segment-first features like cruise control, hill-hold assist, and reverse mode.
It is equipped with a 14-inch front wheel for better stability, a 169 mm ground clearance, and a 34-litre under-seat storage that can fit two helmets. A USB charging port, flat footboard, and long seat make it comfortable for daily use.
Connected and Modern Design
The Orbiter gets a fully digital LCD display with call/SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, and live vehicle tracking through the TVS SmartXonnect app. It also supports over-the-air software updates.
On the design front, the scooter looks sleek and practical with LED lighting, a bold DRL, and comes in six dual-tone colours: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper.
Bookings for the TVS Orbiter electric scooter are now open, and deliveries will begin in major cities soon. With its pricing and features, the Orbiter is expected to compete directly with the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, and Ola S1 series in the Indian EV market.
