TVS Motor Sets Up Global Centre of Excellence in Italy with Full Acquisition of Engines Engineering

TVS Motor Company, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of two- and three-wheelers, has announced the establishment of its Global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Design and Engineering in Bologna, Italy. The move underscores the company’s long-term ambition to deliver premium, future-ready mobility solutions across international markets.

As part of this initiative, TVS Motor has acquired 100% ownership of Engines Engineering S.p.A., a renowned Italian automotive design and engineering firm with expertise in MotoGP racing, high-performance motorcycle development, and advanced prototyping.

The new CoE will function as a concept-to-product innovation hub, combining Engines Engineering’s strengths in European design and racing with TVS Motor’s global R&D capabilities. This integration is expected to accelerate product development cycles, enhance design differentiation, and strengthen TVS Motor’s position in the global premium mobility segment.

Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, said:
“The establishment of the new Italian Global Centre of Excellence marks another milestone in strengthening our capabilities and accelerating our journey to reimagine mobility. By combining the creativity and racing expertise of Engines Engineering with our engineering and design strengths, we are expanding our ability to deliver premium, connected, and electric vehicles that set new global benchmarks.”

Impact on Norton Motorcycles

The CoE will also support Norton Motorcycles, TVS Motor’s iconic British brand, by equipping it with advanced capabilities to craft modern luxury motorcycles that retain their heritage while integrating future-ready design and technology.

Key Focus Areas of the CoE

  • Design & Engineering Excellence: Digital simulation, modular platforms, and rapid prototyping.
  • Future Mobility Technologies: AI-driven design tools, sustainable materials, and connected mobility.
  • Global Talent Collaboration: Partnerships with universities, startups, and global technology leaders.

With this initiative, TVS Motor aims to expand its portfolio of premium motorcycles, advanced scooters, and electric mobility platforms, while strengthening Norton’s pipeline of high-performance bikes. The CoE will also reduce time-to-market for new products, boost design flexibility, and further solidify TVS Motor’s reputation as a global leader in sustainable and future-ready mobility solutions.
