In a landmark moment for India’s professional beauty industry, L’Oreal Professionnel has set a Guinness World Records™ title for “Most people coloring hair” during its mega-event Hair Color Coders 2025. The celebration brought together 422 hairstylists and 422 models under one roof at NESCO, Mumbai, marking the creation of India’s largest salon experience.
The event revolved around Iconic Browns, L’Oreal Professionnel’s Color of the Year, showcasing a versatile palette designed for Indian hair and reflecting the nation’s growing demand for premium salon services. Over 5,000 tubes of iNOA, Majirel, and Dia Color were used across a sprawling 1 lakh sq. ft. setup equipped with 60 backwashes.
The record-setting showcase not only celebrated artistry but also spotlighted the rise of hairstylists as creators and influencers. Participating hairdressers demonstrated trend-led transformations while engaging in digital storytelling, underlining L’Oreal Professionnel’s mission to elevate salon professionals as voices of beauty and innovation.

Ahead of the event, hairstylists underwent four masterclasses to refine their skills in cut, color, style, and digital content creation. At the finale, Global Color Ambassador Min Kim conducted a live masterclass on advanced coloring techniques and delivered a show-stopping Iconic Browns makeover for actress Kritika Kamra.
“Browns are being redefined globally through balayage, glossing, and tonal layering,” said Min Kim. “It was inspiring to see Indian hairdressers embrace these techniques at such a massive scale.”
With Hair Color Coders 2025, L’Oreal Professionnel has not only created history but also reinforced its commitment to education, innovation, and elevating Indian hairstylists on the global stage.
