Apollo Tyres has bagged the front-of-jersey sponsorship rights for Team India, signing a record-breaking ₹579 crore agreement with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The deal, which runs until March 2028, marks one of the most lucrative sponsorship contracts in Indian cricket history.
The tyre major replaces Dream11, whose contract ended prematurely following the government’s ban on real-money gaming platforms and their sponsorships under the Online Gaming Regulation Act, 2025.
The Apollo Tyres deal is 62% higher than Dream11’s previous sponsorship worth ₹358 crore. Beginning September 30, Apollo’s logo will feature on the front of the men’s and women’s team jerseys across formats – including Tests, ODIs, T20Is, ICC tournaments, and ACC events.
According to reports, the contract covers nearly 140 international fixtures, translating to an average of ₹4.5 crore per match for bilateral games and a higher payout for ICC/ACC tournaments.
Apollo outpaced several big names in the bidding process. Canva is understood to have bid around ₹554 crore, while JK Cement offered about ₹477 crore. Apollo’s aggressive strategy, supported by WPP Media, secured the coveted rights.
For BCCI, the deal reaffirms the commercial value of Indian cricket at a time when regulatory shifts have kept gaming and betting firms out of the sponsorship race. The board has set a precedent for premium sponsorship rates, ensuring stronger revenue flows for grassroots development and player welfare.
For Apollo Tyres, the partnership offers unparalleled visibility. With Indian cricket matches drawing massive global audiences, the brand is expected to leverage this deal for deeper market penetration both in India and overseas.
The move signals a new phase in Indian sports marketing – where non-gaming sectors like tyres, cement, and consumer brands are stepping up to capture cricket’s unmatched reach. Jerseys bearing Apollo Tyres’ logo are expected to hit the market soon, replacing Dream11-branded kits that recently saw steep discounts.
With this record deal, Apollo Tyres has not only stamped its name on India’s most-watched sport but also set the tone for future sponsorship valuations in cricket.
