Riding high on the success of Mahavatar Narsimha, producer Naga Vamsi has officially announced his next big project – a 3D animated feature film on Lord Hanuman titled Vayuputra. The film will be directed by Chandoo Mondeti, best known for Thandel and fantasy thrillers like Karthikeya and Karthikeya 2.
The announcement came on September 10 with the release of the first-look poster, which shows Lord Hanuman towering over a burning Lanka with his flaming tail – a powerful hint that the film will explore episodes of the Ramayana from Hanuman’s perspective.
Produced under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, Vayuputra is scheduled for a Dussehra 2026 theatrical release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Sharing the poster on social media, Naga Vamsi wrote:
“An immortal tale, reborn in a way the world has never witnessed. VAYUPUTRA ~ The Legend of Lord Hanuman, like never before. A story that we’ve been working on for the past couple of years. A brainchild of Chandoo Mondeti’s long-cherished vision, now taking shape as we begin production. A cinematic journey to inspire generations.”

The announcement follows the massive success of Mahavatar Narsimha, released on July 25, 2025, which has already crossed ₹300 crore worldwide. The mythological hit has proved that Indian audiences are ready to embrace big-budget animated films rooted in tradition and mythology.
With several titles already planned in the Mahavatar Universe, the addition of Vayuputra shows that Indian animation is entering a golden era, blending mythology with modern cinematic storytelling.
‘Vayuputra’ will release during Dussehra 2026, bringing Lord Hanuman’s legend to life on the big screen like never before.
