The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the revised schedule for NEET UG 2025 counselling Round 2. According to the official update, the registration process will begin on August 21, 2025, and continue till August 26, 2025.
The changes come after Round 1 seat allotments were completed earlier in July. With several candidates still awaiting their chance, Round 2 will offer fresh opportunities to secure seats in MBBS and BDS courses under the All India Quota (AIQ).
Important Dates for NEET UG 2025 Round 2
As per the schedule released by MCC:
- Start of Round 2 Registration: August 21, 2025
- Last Date for Registration: August 26, 2025
- Choice Filling & Locking: August 22–26, 2025
- Seat Allotment Processing: August 27–28, 2025
- Round 2 Allotment Result: August 29, 2025
- Reporting to Allotted Colleges: August 30 – September 5, 2025
- Verification by Institutes: September 6–8, 2025
Who Can Apply in Round 2?
- Candidates who registered in Round 1 but did not get a seat.
- Those allotted a seat in Round 1 but did not join.
- Candidates who joined Round 1 but applied for seat upgradation.
How to Register for NEET UG 2025 Round 2
As per the procedure outlined by MCC:
- Visit the official MCC website: mcc.nic.in
- Click on “UG Medical Counselling 2025 – Round 2 Registration.”
- Fill out the application form and pay the registration fee online.
- Upload the required documents.
- Select and lock your choices of colleges/courses (between August 22–26).
- Wait for the allotment result, which will be declared on August 29, 2025.
What’s Next?
After Round 2, MCC will proceed with Round 3 and stray vacancy rounds to fill any remaining seats. Meanwhile, state-level counselling for the 85% state quota is being conducted by respective state authorities.
NEET UG remains India’s largest medical entrance examination, with lakhs of students competing for limited MBBS and BDS seats. Round 2 counselling is seen as a crucial opportunity for many aspirants who missed out in the first phase.
